It's a Girl!

Great picture don't you think? (Just kidding). Well, we couldn't see a whole lot from our ultra sound pictures, but the doctor has assured us that we are having a baby girl. Hooray!

Uncle Hyrum comes to visit.

Last weekend Hyrum came to see us for a few days. The boys loved being with their Uncle. Hyrum treated us to a Korean Restaurant which was yummy. We also took the boys to see the new Ninja turtles movie, very excited for Stephen especially.

Thanks Uncle John!

Aunt Rachel and Uncle John sent Stephen a Ninja Turtle shirt for his birthday. It has become his most favorite piece of clothing. He works hard to keep it clean so he can wear it at least 2 days in a row. When it is dirty he bugs mom until she washes it for him.

Stephen Turns 4

This week we celebrated Stephen's 4th birthday. We had a family party at home on the 4th and then on Friday we had a party with about 13 kids, mostly from Stephen's Joy School class. Good thing Steve had the day off because it got a littl crazy. We were both pooped out when it was all over.

Basket Ball

Mom and Dad got Stephen a basket ball hoop for his birthday. Stephen and Luke have enjoyed playing with it. Being shorter, Luke has discovered that moving the hoop by the couch and jumping off to make the shot is great fun.

Sponge Swords!

With the money Grandma and Grandpa Brossard sent him, Stephen bought a set of sponge swords. He and Luke have had great fun with them because they can actually hit eachother without getting hurt. As you can see Luke has just as much fun as Stephen. Stephen also had his first opportunity to pay tithing to the Bishop which he was very excited about.

Ninja Turtle Underwear!

Stephen was so excited when he opened his ninja turtle underwear from Grandma and Grandpa Alexander he had to give us a fashion show. He has worn them every day since.

Our Blog

Hello friends and family. We thought Sam and Jess and John and Rach had a great idea when they decided to create their blog spots. We love looking at the pictures and our little boys love to look at their cousins. At any rate, we decided we should it too. I am terrible at sending emails and pictures to relatives and friends so hopefully this will allow me to keep a journal of our family and keep you all updated. We have had repeated requests for us to send pictures of our house so we finally decided to take them and put them on our blog. Please enjoy and thanks for staying in touch. We will enjoy sharing Alabama with you.

Our House

Well, this is our house here in Alabama. As first time home owners we still go into shock on a regular basis realizing more and more what it takes to maintain a home. However, we are growing to love our little house and its starting to feel more like home. Spring is beautiful here in Alabama with all of the colorful blossoming trees. Our little tree blossomed two weeks ago and the boys pick the flowers regularly and give them to me to put in my hair.

Our Living Room

This is our living room. Sometimes we wonder why we have it because its really just a big space-- but the boys like to run through it and I practice my yoga in it. I think about practicing the piano, but have yet to actually do it. At any rate, we now have a formal room.

Our Kitchen

The kitchen is my personal favorite part of our house. It is right in the center of the whole house and if you look at the top of this picture you can see part of the huge sky light right in the center. It adds a lot of natural light and I never have to turn lights on during the day. The people who owned the house before updated all the appliances. The kitchen is big, which is something I've never been able to enjoy until now. I have room to bake etc. and that has been lots of fun. By the way if you want a great no rise whole wheat bread recipe let me know. You can make 3 loaves in 90 min.

Our Family Room

This is our family room and eating area. You can kind of see the bamboo rug we use. It has totally saved our carpet. One day we would like to put in wood floor in the eating area, but until then this thing is spill proof and you clean it up and wipe it down just like a regular floor. You can also see the Greg Olson painting mom and dad gave us for Christmas. We have really enjoyed it.

Our backyard

I didn't take pictures of our bedroom or the other two rooms because they weren't very clean. . . but this is our back yard. We have great dreams for it in the next few years. A garden, fruit trees, swing set, sandbox, trampoline, and a BBQ. Aaaah. If only money grew on trees.

FHE Finger Painting

Last week for FHE we decided to finger paint pictures to send to our Grandmas and Grandpas in the mail (they have yet to be sent, sorry Steve was in Korea for a week). The boys really got into it as you can see.

Who Needs a babysitter?

After playing hard all day, sometimes Stephen and Luke have a hard time staying awake in the car on the way to pick Daddy up from work. Last Friday night was great for Steve and I. We got home and then carried them to our bed to sleep. We tried to wake them up for dinner, but without success. So we enjoyed a nice meal together and a movie. The boys woke up around 9:00 pm ate dinner and then went back to bed for the night. Who needs a babysitter?
